Open Letter to: Mr Bartman and Teaching Staff

Dear Mr Bartman

The community of Smithfield needs your help. We need you and your teachers to convince your learners that by littering the streets they are actually damaging the country that they will one day help to govern.

The responsibility you have is huge – but it is not impossible. This has been shown by another school in Smithfield. It has been proved that, given the encouragement, learners can be made to understand the importance of their role in keeping our beautiful country clean of litter.

Until now your school’s efforts have been a disaster. President Brand Street, especially near the school, looks worse than ever. It has again become a rubbish dump. This is in spite of those newly painted drums and the efforts made to get your support . Surely this reflects badly on the school, the staff and the learners themselves? And surely your team can try harder to carry out its responsibilities to the community at large.

There is nothing Smiffie would like more than to publicly praise the school for its community spirit – but we need your help.

Best wishes

PS. Another thing, Mr Bartman, is the fact that the community of Smithfield is constantly being approached by your learners for donations to cover the costs of various school activities. We give them our support – now we need theirs . This shows that we all need to work together for the common good.

  1. I think a good solution here would be for the community at Large to STOP supporting the school and its endeavours untill they start showing that they are willing to Support the community in return. No more donations or sponsosrships untill this is achived.
